Icy water froze in Jammu and Kashmir

According to the India Meteorological Department, there is no chance of people getting a respite from the cold this week in northern and central India. The cold wave will continue in the northern states of India for the next five days. At the same time, the cold wave is expected to continue for the next three days in central Indian states. However, even if the cold wave stops, the chances of it subsiding are slim. If wind speed decreases, there is a chance that fog will fall and increase melting.

There are chances of heavy rainfall in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the coming days. Orange alert has been issued for Tamil Nadu, while yellow alert has been issued for parts of Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Fog is falling in states like Meghalaya and Odisha. Due to this, normal life is being affected. In the coming days, the effect of fog can also be observed in the northern and central states of India.

Delhi air is bad.

The minimum temperature recorded in Delhi on Sunday was 4.9 degrees Celsius, but cold wave conditions are yet to occur. According to the data of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), no cold wave situation was created. The minimum temperature in Delhi reached 4.9 degrees Celsius on Sunday, 3.1 degrees lower than the normal night temperature. Earlier on Saturday the minimum temperature was recorded at eight degrees Celsius.

IMD said the maximum temperature recorded in Delhi on Sunday was 23.2 degrees Celsius, 0.2 degrees lower than normal. Additionally, the humidity level was maintained between 91 and 45 percent. The IMD has forecast moderate fog on Monday and the maximum temperature is expected to be 23 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is five degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) was recorded at 294 at 4 pm, which falls in the ‘poor’ category.

Cold wave outbreak in Punjab and Haryana

The cold wave continued in Punjab and Haryana on Sunday with Faridkot being the coldest place in the region where the minimum temperature was recorded at one degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department gave this information. Nights remained cold in Gurdaspur and Bathinda of Punjab as well. The minimum temperature was recorded at two degrees Celsius in Gurdaspur and 4.6 degrees Celsius in Bathinda. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Pathankot was 3.5 degrees Celsius, while in Amritsar it was 3.9 degrees Celsius. According to the department, the minimum temperature in Ludhiana was recorded at 6.8 degrees Celsius, while in Patiala the mercury dipped to 3.8 degrees Celsius.

The Meteorological Department said the minimum temperature in Hisar, Haryana was recorded at 1.7 degrees Celsius, while in Narnaul the minimum temperature was recorded at three degrees Celsius. Bhiwani is also experiencing severe cold where the minimum temperature was recorded at four degrees Celsius, while in Gurugram the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.6 degrees Celsius. The department said the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius in Rohtak and 5.7 degrees Celsius in Ambala. Chandigarh, the common capital of Haryana and Punjab, recorded a minimum temperature of 4.8 degrees Celsius.

Relief from severe cold wave in Kashmir

There has been some relief from the cold wave in Kashmir due to the rise in minimum temperature in the valley. However, it remains below freezing point. Meteorological Department officials gave this information on Sunday. The Meteorological Department reported that the minimum temperature in the summer capital Srinagar was recorded at -3.4 degrees Celsius, better than the previous night’s -4.6 degrees Celsius. He said the minimum temperature in Gulmarg, a popular skiing tourist spot, was recorded at 3.8 degrees Celsius, an increase of about four degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature at Pahalgam, the base camp of the annual Amarnath Yatra, was recorded at minus 4.8 degrees Celsius, three degrees higher than the previous night. Konnibal Valley, on the outskirts of Pampore city, was the coldest place, with a mercury temperature of -5.2 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature was minus 4.0 degrees Celsius at Qazigund, the gateway to Kashmir, 3.7 degrees Celsius at Kupwara in north Kashmir and 2.8 degrees Celsius at Kokernag in south Kashmir. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain mainly dry until December 21. However, the minimum temperature is expected to drop further in the valley over the next three days and cold waves are expected to prevail at many places.
