The UN Chief, remembering his experience in the dictatorship in Portugal, asked that countries follow international laws and “constantly and universally protect” human rights, even if it is uncomfortable to do so.

‘A moral crisis’

The UN Chief said that the United Nations are ready to quickly increase humanitarian aid efforts.
He repeated the demand for high and permanent fire, unconditional release and full access of human assistance to all ties.

Growing dictatorship

He welcomed the opinion of the International Court of the Court (ICI) in which climate change has been related to human rights and countries, the legal responsibility to protect the climate system has been solved.
He demanded cuts in carbon emissions, justified changes in fossil fuels and adequate financial assistance for developing countries.
The Secretary General appreciated the decades of Amnesty International, appreciating as “mandatory” for the global human rights movement.
This was the first time that a UN Secretary General went to the global General Assembly of Amanty International.
He described the courage and continuity of the organization as a change carrier and asked to continue the struggle for human rights.
Amanty International, established in 1961, has played an important role in the creation of international human rights laws and systems, in collaboration with the UN.
